A Two-Day regional capacity development workshop on ‘Ensuring Water Security in Changing Environment Scenario for Water Professionals of Cluster Countries’ is being organized by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, National Institute of Hydrology Regional Centre, Bhopal and National Institute of Technology Hamirpur with support of UNESCO New Delhi Office. It will consist of invited lectures from experts in the field of Environmental Engineering, Water Resource Engineering and other stakeholders.

  • Water security: present status, challenges and way forward.

  • Issues of concern for achieving water security.

  • Policy requirements to address water security challenges.

  • Water crisis, conflicts and gender issues.

  • International best practices in wastewater treatment to provide high-quality effluent and enhance recycling to reduce the pressure on freshwater resources.

  • Participation of international water community in understanding water security.

  • Designing action plans for achieving water security.

  • Participation of stakeholders in the water-wastewater treatment infrastructure.

  • Urban flooding and draughts as threat to water security.

  • Flooding and draughts in rural areas as ultimate challenge in water security.

  • Linkage/nexus in water security and food-energy-climate-sustainability.
